Hand-made soaps, are not like commercial soaps. It does not have all the harsh detergents in them. When you use a hand-made soap, then after every use put it on a slotted soap dish, or if it is in a soap sac, then hang it up. They need to be away from a steady stream of water. They need to completely air dry between every use. This will help to extend the life of your soap. If you are ordering 1 of the big bars, then you can do like a lot of others and cut them in half. Please take note that the darker the soap is, it is prone to do what is called bleeding. It will not stain your skin, but it might stain the washcloth that you use. I have never seen it happen but I would rather express this information.
